Volunteer Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit non-Executive volunteers and maintain a database of volunteers to support activities of the WTJHS
  • Identify opportunities for volunteers and match volunteers to these opportunities (e.g. staff the WTJHS table at the Junction Farmers Market and other special Society events, provide hospitality support at WTJHS meetings; deliver the Leader and Recorder; assist visitors during archive public hours)   
  • Keep a log of volunteer activities, hours worked, and achievements for reference in annual reports, grant applications, etc. 

Skills: Good communication skills – in meetings as well as by email, instant messaging and phone calls; good organization skills; good interpersonal skills to deal with volunteers and WTJHS members 

Location: Preference for an individual living in or near West Toronto Junction in order to build on familiarity with the area and encourage participation in WTJHS events

Participation: Willing and available to attend WTJHS events to develop relationships with volunteers 

Commitment: Few hours a month; most of the activities can be done from home
