We are very pleased with the response to our urgent message in February 2023 about the future of WTJHS. In addition to four new candidates for elected offices and non-elected roles on the Executive Committee, new volunteers have stepped forward for other key roles. However, volunteers are still needed for other vital roles, as well as volunteers who can be available for occasional support, as listed below. Please consider putting your name forward for any of these opportunities, addressed to our general email at junctionhistorical@gmail.com.
- Events coordinator/display coordinator
- Archive volunteers to assist with public inquiries (orientation provided)
- Zoom/hybrid meeting coordinator – approximately 5 hours per month
- Phone crew coordinator for spring 2024. The Phone Crew contacts WTJHS members to remind them to renew their memberships. The Phone Crew Coordinator liaises with the Membership Secretary to and organizes the lists of WTJHS members for each Phone Crew member to contact (10-15 hours in March/April 2024 for the Coordinator)
- Book sales coordinator (managing the delivery of books to local stores and collecting payment)
- Fundraising Committee chair and members
- Junction history high school art competition – the coordinator needs a second person to help with the process (10-15 hours spread over three months in 2023 and in 2024)
- Volunteer coordinator (this is mainly for the non-Executive volunteer roles)
- Refreshments coordinator (for when we restart in-person meetings)
- T-shirt sales/farmers market team members – as available (one Saturday morning per month May to October, helping with delivery and set-up, interacting with the public on sales, and take-down. 4-6 hours each time)
- The Leader and Recorder editorial group members (finding authors, editing copy, supporting the Editor. One term commitment, average of about 4 hours a month)
- Researching and writing content and providing photos for Facebook/Instagram (self directed time commitment)

Corresponding Secretary
The Correspondence Secretary is responsible for:
- Monitoring, evaluating and directing the Society’s external communications
- Booking engaging, diverse speakers for our public programs and coordinating with the Executive on programme
- Attending all Executive and general meetings
