Membership Secretary (member of Board of Directors)

Description

The Membership Secretary is responsible to:

  • maintain the WTJHS membership database
  • update the records for new members, renewals, address changes and member payment/subscription updates on a regular basis
  • answer membership inquiries and welcome new members via email
  • maintain and update email database (MailChimp); add and update member email addresses as required
  • prepare label document for newsletter distribution three times yearly 
  • promote renewal of memberships annually
  • prepare and send reports on membership numbers and renewals as required

Skills

Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word plus Mail merge function. Attention to detail.

Location

Preference for an individual living in or near West Toronto Junction in order to build on familiarity with the area and encourage participation in WTJHS events.  Apart from participation in WTJHS events, this role can be carried out completely at home.

Expectations

Minimum one year commitment, preferably longer. Home computer and internet access. Active participation in WTJHS Board meetings nine times a year via Zoom. Estimated 10 hours a month on average.
