Description
The Event Display Coordinator is responsible to:
- plan and organize one or two public events each year, e.g., inside or outside the Annette Street Library or as part of a community event
- develop and update displays relating to local history that can be shown in public locations, e.g., the Junction Farmers Market, the Annette Street Library
- organize the setup and operation of the WTJHS booth at the Junction Farmers Market (may be scheduled monthly or less often from May to October)
- arrange for volunteers to help set up, staff and take down booths and displays.
Skills
Planning and organizational abilities, good interpersonal skills, creative and idea-generating. Able to drive and have access to a vehicle to transport heavy objects such as a tent, WTJHS books, display material, merchandise, etc. Alternatively, one of the other volunteers could provide the vehicle or rent a vehicle with reimbursement from WTJHS.
Location
Preference for an individual living in or near West Toronto Junction in order to build on familiarity with the area and to have easy access to the neighbourhood.
Expectations
Commitment to a minimum of one year, preferably longer. Estimated ten hours per month on average (more time around events, less the rest of the year)
