The West TO Junction Historical Society (WTJHS) is a volunteer organization of local history enthusiasts with an office located in the Annette public library. The purpose of the society is to bring together those interested in the historical heritage of West Toronto and research, preserve and talk about Toronto Junction history.
We are looking for a volunteer Bookkeeper who would be responsible for:
- maintaining the financial records of the society in an online Google docs ledger including:
- regularly updating the membership listings for payments made by cheque, cash, and Interac
- depositing cheques and cash into the Society’s bank account
- reconciling reported sales against what is received in Square
- collaborating with Treasurer, Membership Secretary and other volunteers to ensure complete financial documentation
- depositing cheques and cash into the Society’s bank account
- preparing cheques to suppliers and for reimbursing members’ expenses
- working with our accountant to prepare annual WTJHS’ Financial Statements
- responsible for submitting HST returns to the CRA
No attendance at meetings is required. All job responsibilities can be undertaken from your home computer, and occasional visits to the Annette library to collect any donations that have been left there. You will need a home computer and internet access. You will liaise with the Treasurer who is responsible for developing budgets and reporting to the Board and membership on the Society’s financial status.
