Neil Brochu, Coordinator, Collections & Conservation City of Toronto Museums
Neil Brochu works at the City of Toronto’s Collections & Conservation Centre where the City stores roughly 150,000 artifacts and over 1 million archaeological specimens all related to Toronto’s history. The Centre provides centralized museum collections services for the City of Toronto’s ten historic sites. As coordinator, Neil is responsible for both the physical storage of these artifacts and undertaking on-going research projects in support of the interpretation goals of the historic sites. His talk will provide an overview of the collection and insight into the conservation challenges presented by such a large and diverse museum collection.
